I so want my own wing if I ever marry!!!

I read recently that 1 in 4 American couples have separate rooms and tend to be happier. Not sure if it was scientific but all the couples interviewed said they get better quality sleep and it actually boosts intimacy. In my last relationship we reached the talking-about-moving-in stage, and I insisted that if I did move in, that I have my own bedroom. I think it's a great idea. Separate houses is even better, but I like the wall down the center of this old lighthouse!

That's sort of like my house now. I live in a two family. It would be a great set up- have your partner upstairs, share stuff when you want to, but still have your own bathroom, kitchen, bedroom. Just like you're single but with benefits. Perfect situation.

Oooh, Christina, you're a ghost hunter! :) Paranormal research is a big interest of mine, too...and so are lighthouses! One of my dream trips is St. Augustine Light in FL.

I think lighthouses appeal to me in part because of their remoteness and aura of self-sufficiency. A perfect metaphor for the onely state of mind. This one with its dual-occupancy quarters really takes the cake! I would love to have an arrangement like that!

Sometimes I really envy the wealthy, who can afford his and hers bedrooms, bathrooms, and everything else. I wonder what divorce stats look like for couples who live in separate quarters.
