National Singles Saturday–Let’s Celebrate! September 25, 2008

Call into your favorite radio dedication show, and dedicate a song to yourself. Not your boyfriend, your fiance, your girlfriend, your ex-girlfriend’s best friend, your married boss–YOU! Because when it all comes down to it, you are your number one. You’re the one who makes your life worth living. You’re the one who had made you everything you are today. You’re the one who has filled your life with love and laughter. You’re the one who–you get the idea. 

A good show to call is Delilah (1-888-6Delilah). She listens to lovelorn callers tell their stories of heartache, triumph, regret, and appreciation. She’ll let them talk for a minute or more (sometimes it seems like ten). Call her and talk about how much you value your self, how your self has stuck by your for twenty, thirty, sixty, eighty years, how your self makes you laugh and cry and how you wouldn’t know what to do if something happened to your self. Tell her you just want to let your self know how much you value her or him. Then write Onely and let us know you did it, and what song Delilah or any other show host ended up choosing for you!

I am going to try to get through on Saturday night as a break from writing my thesis. I hope she doesn’t choose that Whitney Houston song “The Greatest Love of All.” (Lyrics: Learning to love yourself, blah blah.) That’s too easy!
