Tell Credo to Crack the Couple-Rut December 29, 2008

Rachel of Rachel’s Musings had a great idea. The progressive phone company Credo is asking its customers and the general public what causes they find most important. Tell them that we need legislation to get us out of the couple-rut:

Families can be man-woman based, or man-man, or woman-woman, or SINGLE person with kids, or SINGLE person without kids, or SINGLE person with close cousins, platonic friends, or other people who they choose for their support system, or–if you are very progressive–man-man-man or woman-man-man or woman-woman-man, or. . . you get the idea.

Nothing says that we *have* to bestow legislative favor on sets of two. What are we, animals on the Ark? I believe that Native American communities (and others) have extensive networks of family and friends who all share child-raising and eldercare responsibilities, and the specific biological couplings that resulted in the kids are less important.

Anyway, Rachel says this all more concisely than I do. Take a look at her post, then go fill out the Credo survey!

I’m really loving the theme/design of your website.
Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility issues?
A small number of my blog readers have complained about my site not working
correctly in Explorer but looks great in Firefox.
Do you have any advice to help fix this problem?
