Way back in October, I wrote this post about my debate with Christina about why I think Hillary Clinton did not divorce Bill way back when it would have seemed appropriate for her to do so. I suggested then that we nominate HRC for status as Honorary Oneler – and now that Clinton has been named our 67th Secretary of State, Onely officially names her as an Honorary Oneler!
Here are a few reasons why we think she deserves to be named one of us:
- Her vision for health care and reproductive rights has always been and continues to be strongly progressive and distinctly feminist.
- In spite of what must have been a dreadful experience as First Lady during the Lewinsky scandal, she maintained face and became an influential United States Senator.
- She then ran an impressive, but ultimately failed, campaign to become the first female Democratic nominee for president.
- And most recently, she was sworn in to become one of the most powerful people in the U.S., the Secretary of State.
Basically, we here at Onely think she possesses the mental energy, personal strength, and progressive feminist mindset required of anyone claiming Oneler status: If she were single, she would DEFINITELY be happy! 🙂
