“Dear Onely,” he says, “I noticed that your blog discusses the challenges that single women go through in today’s hectic world of dating.” Oh, J, you’re so sensitive! Are you available? (more…)

Except it was my neighbor who tried to set me up with her lesbian friend. She said, “But I never saw any men around your house, so I thought. . .” Her friend was very beautiful, so too bad for me I’m not gay. (more…)

Last week when I went to the doctor to make sure I didn’t have strep and after the doc agreed that my throat looked “like it hurt” (duh!), she tried to convince me to get updated on my shots. I was (irrationally, I’ll admit) reluctant, especially because I figured I was in enough pain as it is, but she tried to convince me anyway. Here’s how the conversation transpired: (more…)

Oh, karma. A year ago my boyfriend broke up with me for the second time, when he discovered that I’d been dating someone else–while we were broken up the first time. At the time of that second breakup, I was not in a very Onely place and I actually–shudder–tried to apologize by sending him flowers from FTD! Not long afterward, I managed to scrape together the remnants of my pride and reason, and I moved on to Oneliness. Until. (There’s always an until, isn’t there?) (more…)

In fact, there are a couple that we want to get back to, but first, the most recent one, posted by Cynthia in response to this post written by Christina (I’ve cut to the final portion of the comment, btw, because it seemed the most relevant):
